Bonus Episode: Cases of the DT’s!!

Oh wait………I meant to say the DTS: Delirious Trail Sightings!!!!!!!!!!!

(Yup…prepare yourself for a rather silly but entertaining post about my visions on the Appalachian Trail!! 🤓😁)

You know how your mind can play tricks on you, especially when you find yourself overly-exhausted?? Your brain feels fuzzy, the world moves by in slow(er) motion around you, you may feel like you’re going mad because you’re overtired and things sound louder than they really are or you feel like you’re hallucinating a lil’ bit ….do you know what I mean? Ever been there??

WELL, I totally experienced DTS on the Appalachian Trail!!! After a long day on the trail, being hot, sweaty, and pretty darn tired, I would have these moments with trees. Yes, seriously. With TREES. Just like you can depict shapes, forms, animals, etc in the clouds, I would see various creatures and things in the shapes of the trees!! Do I sound insane?? Perhaps….but maybe you are, too! 😜 Let’s find out if you have a case of the DTS, shall we????? Can you see these things in the trees, too, or is it just me?!?!?!?!

Okay, the “giraffe sighting” might be a stretch……but I remember being tired and loopy and finding it pretty hilarious that I saw a tree figure that looked like a giraffe at the time. You maybe had to be there. 😜

This guy clearly decided that sunshine and water weren’t cuttin’ it. Nope, he needed to consume these tasty rails – – a very bold nutritional choice! He does look rather satisfied. Can you tell that he’s smiling??

It’s so nice when someone holds the door for the person behind them or assists someone when carrying groceries to the car, for example…….THIS tree wanted to be so helpful and hold this sign in place with his mouth! Yes, the sign is a bit crunched and rusty, but the tree clearly made sign-holding his job!!! And you can tell that it’s his mouth holding the sign because you can see his nose…..No??? Yes??? Sometimes you gotta look again. 😁

So, I know that I posted this pic in an earlier post….but seeing two trees at this distance, away from any other trees, instantly made me feel like I would make a field goal attempt if I had a football with me! (IT’S GOOD!!!🏉 The crowd goes wild!!)

The longest tree “arm” extended fully and hovering above the trail, with it’s claw-like fingers dangling and outstretched, waiting to claim it’s next hiker……..dramatic and intense, I know! Do you see it????

With the head of the tree and all of it’s branches horizontal to the ground and the illusion that this tree is “bent over at the waist…..” Well, isn’t it obvious?? This tree is clearly mooning the tree or trees behind him/her!!!!! Inappropriate, indeed!!!! 🙈😆

Okay, I have to be honest with this one. I took this photo in the morning, so I was neither tired nor experiencing any real life DTS. HOWEVER, after looking up at this gigantor tree, I totally saw this demonic being with HUGE horns or antlers, with its two arms raised in the air like it’s about to throw down!! It was totally picture-worthy. You’re worried about me and my sanity, aren’t you? (Or you totally get it and you’re questioning your own sanity!! Lol!!!) Regardless, the rest of the pics are a bit “easier to see,” (potentially..) and you will get to check out my favorite ones!!!!

The trail, as you see, is to the left of the tree and carries on in that direction. This “strongman” tree is flexing his biceps while pointing to the right. But instead of saying “the gym is…..THAT way!,” (showing off his one-arm gun), he’s potentially implying that the safer way is in the opposite direction than the way the path leads. BUT both ways seemed pretty foggy so we carried on following the AT and luckily it all turned out just fine!!! 😄

There’s nothing like coming around a corner on the AT and seeing a dinosaur head peering out of a moss-covered tree stump!! Any dinosaur fans out there?? Does this remind you of a velociraptor? Or does this face remind you of another one?!? Asking for a friend…. 🤣

This snake tree is reaching over the trail with its mouth open, ready to take a bite… or create some intimidation!!!!

I thought this tree was so cool!! Growing completely sideways and reaching horizontal all the way to the trail!! And doesn’t it look like another snake tree, slithering to the right?? Almost like I snapped this pic in mid-slither, like an action shot???

This abnormally large wishbone was just hangin’ out on the trail, waiting for a couple of giants to come along and make a wish!!

That is totally a moose face, scoping things out from behind that tree. You can see his eyes, his nose, part of his antlers…or maybe those are his ears……perhaps????? Or maybe it’s a ram head?? Can you at least see a head or have I lost it completely? Yes, honesty is always welcome. 🙃😂

How awesome is this??? It looks like the fusion of a lizard-giraffe-centipede-alligator, doesn’t it???? I shall call it a Centiraffligator, for fun. Totally rad, as my cousin would say!! You can so clearly see the lizard face and long neck with it’s alligator body and multiple legs…..non????

AND THE ULTIMATE PHOTO IN FIRST PLACE:

POV 1) This beast-like creature is stalking it’s prey, crawling slowly so it can remain stealth and quiet…..doesn’t it remind you of a swamp monster??? Some type of scaley, Komodo dragon-like predator??? With a potentially long, fat tail.

OR do you see something else??

POV 2) His face DOES look cut off so maybe it’s a swamp beast in agony as he tries to blindly inch himself forward and save himself from his attacker.

Things are getting deep. WHOA!! But you can’t deny that you see the head, the two arms, the body…whatever your views are!!!!!! Right??!?!?!

So, what is the verdict?? Do we both share DTS?? Did you ever say to yourself, “oh yeah!! I totally see it!” Even if you had to do a double-take because you may not have seen it the first time? Maybe you just think I’m ridiculous. I AM!!!! But these photos are pretty amusing, regardless. I thought you might enjoy them so you can be entertained AND laugh at me for my crazy imagination!!!!

And speaking of seeing visions in the clouds, I did capture this amazing cloud form one day:

Maybe you see a dog face, looking up? Or a lion, leopard, cheetah….face?? Maybe something else?? Whatever you see, how cool does it look, those clouds at the top of the stairs??!!!

Never lose your sense of wonder and your imagination!! If I did, I couldn’t provide you with crazy stories and photos like these!!!!!! Now THAT would be a tragedy.
