Hi and Bonjour and Happy Energy to you!!! ๐๐ผ โจ๐โจ๐๐พโจ
Continuing from last week, blocked and festering energy in our bodies may seem like an “out there” concept, like perhaps voodoo or new age thinking. Yet, it does make sense if we stop and put the pieces together.
Like so!!!!!

Voilร !!!!!! โ๏ธ๐ Which we already started doing in the last blog post. Hooray!
Now let’s look at these questions and see if any relate to us and our own personal circumstances:
Are there places in your life where you feel stuck? Or goals that you have every intention of reaching yet self-sabotage ends up being the real name of the game? Or are there a barrage of thoughts and feelings from a past experience that you just can’t seem to get past and it messes with your head from time to time (or a lot of the time?)? Do any of these things feel like your new reality and that this is “just the way it’s going to be forever so I have to live with it?”
๐ค๐คจ๐ง
Wow, you guys, I used to feel an absolute YES to every single question that I just asked….
So, my life for the past seven years has been a series of “complete opposite ends of the spectrum” events. They are not necessarily “cause and effect” relationships yet the rollercoaster you’re about to read did happen in this order: Finishing a 7-month dance contract that took me to Sydney, Australia ๐๐ผ AND tearing the ACL in my left knee for the first timeโน๏ธ; completing an assortment of running races, including a 6-hour run, a half marathon, and a series of 5K’s where I came in first in my age group ๐๐ผ AND tearing the ACL and meniscus in my right kneeโน๏ธ; traveling to Las Vegas for a Fitness Convention and actually taking dance classes for the first time in 2 years ๐๐ผ AND half-tearing my left ACLโน๏ธ; completing my first full Marathon in Chicago ๐๐ผ AND needing another knee surgery procedure (Meniscectomy)โน๏ธ; hiking 500+ miles of the beautiful Appalachian Trail ๐๐ผAND tearing the rest of my left ACLโน๏ธ…..and so on. ๐ข

Talk about feeling stuck in a destructive loop!!!!
Perhaps you read this and you’re shaking your head, wondering why I haven’t “learned my lesson yet” and stopped trying to run/dance/hike/do-intense-physical-activity because CLEARLY I’m unable to do so. If you look at the patterns that I have just explained, it would seem so obvious and I can see how someone might question if I’m actually capable of doing these activities successfully again. (Someone like me! I have questioned this many times). I mean, I DO manage to complete the amazing things on the good side of the scale, but then the pendulum swings so far to the bad side of the scale soon after, as you can see. ๐
HERE’S THE THING: if there is blocked energy in the body – – – festering, causing physical/emotional/mental disturbance, and sabotaging your focus and concentration – – – then it doesn’t matter how physically fit you are or how hard you train or how great your intentions are or how much you desire a change…that blocked energy has a way of running your life and ruining your vision. And creating more of the things that you don’t want.

And for me, I could never outrun: my stretched-out newly-reconstructed Left ACL because of Physical Therapy in 2014, the compensations created because of it, as well as the extreme build-up of fear in my body over the past 6+ years. I’ve been terrified of re-injuring my knees after every trauma that I’ve experienced after my PT mishap in ’14, and here I am, with all of these knee injuries. (Our reality is formed from our thoughts so my worried thoughts made me VERY susceptible to future injuries…)
Anyways, I believe that this fear has been running my life since then, as much as I trained, studied, and tried so hard to rebuild my body and my confidence. With subconscious hesitation and selective focus during a task or a physical activity, all it takes is less than a second to stretch an ACL too far. Trust me on this one. ๐ฌ Without really examining this mental piece and the energetic blockages and deficiencies that I have created over the years, I have been unable to challenge this destructive pattern that I’ve been living, in order to recreate a new outcome.
Until now because I am leaving no stone unturned!!!!

OKAY, so, WHEREVER we find ourselves struggling in our lives, here are some pointers that I have found and learned in order to move us closer to the things that we actually want to create in our lives. Some are subjective and some are powerful quotes to think about. Please take what may resonate with you and leave what does not:
1) An abridged version of a chapter in The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer:
We must realize that we are not our thoughts or our feelings or our experiences or our jobs or our bodies or anything else that we use to describe ourselves. We are the ones who see and who feel and who experience these things. We are the ones who have bodies. Which means we are behind them all. If you hear the term “Self,” this is what it means. The one behind the scenes, witnessing everything happening. Looking at life from this perspective allows moments to unfold without always clinging to the ones that have an impact on us.
***Letting life just be as opposed to forcing, or being distraught because we are unable to force, circumstances to fit into the limited scope that we have created.
2) The fullest life has the richest of experiences across the spectrum. “Life is happening FOR us, not TO us” – – – we have the chance to experience and learn from everything that happens and everyone that we encounter in the outside world.

3) Only when we are aware can we seek change of any kind.
One of the biggest conundrums to uncover is why we do the things that we do. And then have the honesty and courage to challenge what we find, especially if it no longer matches with the life we wish to live. Slowing down and finding a deeper connection to ourselves is one of the initial steps to lasting change.
4) ” All emotions are caused from a sentence in your mind.” – Brook Castillo
This reminds us that we are causing our own emotions from the thoughts we think, which places the control and the responsibility in our own hands.
***Doesn’t that just make you think a little bit differently about the emotions you experience, mainly WHY you’re experiencing them? Understanding our thoughts and thought patterns could answer many of our own mysteries. ๐ก
5) Rhonda Byrne from The Secret:
“Thoughts are magnetic, and thoughts have a frequency. As you think thoughts, they are sent out into the Universe, and they magnetically attract all like things that are on the same frequency. Everything sent out returns to the source – you.”
**Another way to look at it is from the words of Albert Einstein:

***If we are not experiencing a reality that we love, are proud of, or makes us feel fulfilled, then perhaps it would be wise to start to get curious about our own minds?!?!?! Thoughts are SO POWERFUL in creating our day-to-day life. And we have the ability to shift our thinking and therefore shift our reality to something that better serves us and the people in our lives.
6) Lean into the discomfort of negative feelings instead of running away, resisting, or avoiding. And it’s so important to pay attention to which ones we choose in order to “handle” the disturbances that we feel. Because the feeling only gets stronger when we refuse to feel it.
**My favorite has always been this one: ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ!!!!! As in ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ away from my problems. ๐ I know the practice of this “leaning in” concept is crucial for me, especially when I have my upcoming knee surgery- – – when I may want to resist, avoid, AND run away from everything that I’m feeling!!!! And I appreciate this quote to keep me feeling empowered when I think about the word “surgery”:
“Embrace the suffering. Move towards it so that you can OWN it. And once you own it, you have dominion over it and you can manage it. It is no longer running you.” – Brook Castillo

7) “Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.” – Pema Chodron
๐ก๐ก๐ก๐ก๐ก!!!!!!!!!
*** Whoa, ๐คฏ, does this one floor me and speaks to me on a very deep level!! So I am trying to learn everything that I can about myself, remaining curious and staying open to all of the things that I find and realize. Total ‘LIGHTBULB’ quote and one that I will always remember.
8) Last, but definitely not least is this one. Something that is so widely heard, found in so many movies/articles/literature, and appears to be one of the most beneficial things we can do for ourselves. Just ask Elsa, she knows.

LET. IT. GO.
Even if you’re sick and tired of this song – – because maybe your child still requests to watch “Frozen” twelve times a day so you know this song (and the entire movie) by heart ๐ – – it is still something that will change our lives as we know it. To learn to let go and surrender to the outside world, rather than always trying to control circumstances that are out of our control.
“To experience all that there is and then let go of all that there is. To feel the feelings and not be afraid to feel the feelings……realizing that feelings don’t last long when we allow them to be there.” – Brook Castillo
Rather than trying to control the outside world, what if we focused on our inner world – – our thoughts, feelings, and behavior and the results and outcomes that occur from our internal dialogues – – where we have greater control? And then noticing where we are refusing to let go and patiently asking ourselves “WHY?” No blame, no finger-pointing, and no harsh words to ourselves, just curiously question our choices and where we can make much-needed changes.

Honestly, I have no idea what that would feel like. To live a Yogi mind each minute of every day, (not just on the Yoga mat and practicing off the mat but really living it), experiencing every moment and then the next…and the next….and just breathing into the wonder and the unease of every circumstance without carrying extra emotional baggage around. Just loving the moment when it is phenomenal and learning from the moment when it is disastrous and then……that’s it. Move on to the next beautiful piece of life with fresh eyes and a full heart, no matter what happened prior to that moment. And then that is how you choose to live your life, forever more.
Hmmmmmm, how great would it be to let all the weights and burdens that we carry roll off of our shoulders and JUST BE???
To be grateful for right now – – – for the bodies that we have, for the incredible people in our lives, for the things that make us smile, and for the things that we have all overcome in order to be as strong as we are RIGHT NOW.
Now THAT is an unmistakable truth worth mentioning, believing, and receiving. โค๏ธ
